Can anyone install the TDM-GSM module?
The module should be installed by a qualified computer technician, failure to install the module correctly may damage the TDM-GSM Modules and the TDM-400P PCI Cards.
Will the TDM-GSM Modules work on any TDM-400P Installation?
Yes, the TDM-GSM Emulates the FXO Module at a hardware level thus ensuring full compatiability with Asterisk.
Can my SIM card have a PIN?
No PIN Numbers must be removed from the SIM Cards before installing them into the TDM-GSM Modules.
Are there any special drivers for the TDM-GSM Products?
No, the TDM-GSM uses the normal FXO drivers supplied with Asterisk
How any GSM Module can I install on a TDM-400P?
Each TDM-GSM takes up two FXO ports, you can therfore install up to 2 GSM Modules, or 1 GSM Module and 2 FXO Modules onto a TDM-400P.
Is the GSM Engine Approved?
The GSM Engine has International Approvals, which can be downloaded from the download page.
Will the TDM-GSM work on all GSM Network?
The TDM-GSM-100 is a Dual-Band Module supporting 900Mhz and 1800Mhz networks, some network operators require a Tri-Band Module (900,1800 and 1900) which is not supported by the TDM-GSM-100.
How should I position the Antenna?
The antenna should be positioned away from Computer Equipment and mounted on a metal surface.
Can I use any Antenna?
You can use any antenna that support 900/1800Mhz and has an SMA Connector.
Can I send SMS Messages from the Module?
No, SMS Messages can not be sent from the TDM-GSM module without modifying the device drivers. Currently the system supports VOICE only.
